No matter who you are, you fit yourself well. Your knees can fit your armpits, your feet behind your head, your heels into your palms. Using these fits functionally, you can train your practice to be radical and revelatory! Katonah Yoga articulates a philosophy of the body that is both formal and informative.
Alignment-focused, theory-forward, this weekend training will give students new insights from the esoteric ideas of subtle body anatomies to the pragmatic use of geometry to sustain form. We will cover aspects of Katonah Yoga’s unique practices, including:
Saturday, October 5 from 1-6 pm
Firm Foundations: Katonah Yoga Master class
Recipes for Joy! Breathwork and Meditation
Applied Adjustments for Injuries and the rest of us
Sunday, October 6 from 1-6 pm
Becoming Spherical extended master class
Home practice and restoratives
Atlas of Internal Cartography: Maps and Metaphors of Katonah Yoga (theory and breath)
This training is offered to teachers and practitioners alike. Yoga is invisible, there are no levels, and you are most welcome exactly as you are.
The first session will be an immersive personal laboratory for mobility, stability, and refinement. Morning sessions will provide a deep, satisfying practice that will flush your organs, and bring the deep release that comes through intelligent effort. After a break, our second sessions will focus on theory and applications. Our emphasis is building skills, techniques, and understanding through precision and applied theory.
